Hey Brandon. Setting $1=255 to keep the motors on all the time and so the Z axis don’t fall, does that lessen the life of the motors?
I set my z to 5 minutes and it helps a lot. Holding a servo still makes the most heat and I have the current setting on the board set as low as I can. (About 70%) The motors are designed for heat and with my power settings I never see the motors too hot to touch. I consider that the safe range for life. I would love to hear about Brandon’s experience with solenoid life expectancy.
@Colin_Kaminski I set mine to the $1=255 because that’s what Brandon has in the R7 settings he posted. I usually set it back to 0 when I’m done cutting but not sure if that’s good to do or not to keep re-writing to the controller board.
I’ve always had all machines 100% on the motors. Have not wore a motor out yet.
@Brandon_Satterfield Thank you that i good to know.
