Hey, can anyone recommend low-power cable connectors (neither side board mounted) that are polarized (and obviously have some sort of locking/friction connection)? This is for powering the heatsink fan on an e3d nozzle.
I COULD use some xt60 connectors i have but they’re a bit overkill and I want to save them for another project.
I’ve thought of crimping male and female header ends and shrink wrapping them together (to lock them together) but I wonder if there’s a more elegant solution out there.
+Peter van der Walt yeah I was looking at getting the Jst SM kit on Amazon! I really don’t mind crimping connectors, but I know what you mean. My carpet is probably saturated with female header crimps…
Molex SL series. Used on my printer and industrial equipment, they’re pretty robust for the cost. They do require a crimper but the cheap $20 Molex knock off crimpers out there work.
Molex also has other connectors, all the way up to 30 amp rated for large heated beds.
They’re a bit larger than some options but do work well.
Ha-ha it seems that Jst SM is winning… although +Peter van der Walt’s suggestion would be great for a set of motor extensions that are only Molex male/female header ends that are taped together with electrical tape.
