Hey,

Does anyone know what thermal runaway is, and how to correct it on my i3 mk2

On my Tevo Little Monster it was when the hot end temperature dropped by 40 degrees in a short time. It is a setting in the firmware. The first fix was updated firmware. The second cause or primary was my thermistor wiring was broken. I had to replace the thermistor and wiring to get it to work again.

Firmware expects certain temperature change in a specific amount of time. You more likely either not heating up fast enough based on those settings.

First rule of trouble shooting is check the physical connections. Loose or damaged connections will cause this, I have recently had my hot end cooling fan come loose and it kick a thermal runaway. A part cooling fan hitting the heater block can cause this too. If it is intermittent then it is probably a connection, if it is constent and all connections are good then most likely firmware settings.

@Lukas_Mathis yes I do, and thanks for the suggestion. Do you know of any more issues related to that model? I cannot get the XYZ calibration to totally succeed to save my life. I’m wondering if I need to reprint some pieces and reassemble the extruder.

@Jeremiah_Coley thanks
