Hey everyone, I just posted a video that helps us DIY machinists learn some of the tips and tricks from professional riggers.
It’s exactly the video I wish someone had made back when I was scratching my head wondering how I was going to get my new purchase home - a Bridgeport Boss3 which I stripped down and retrofitted. Since then, I’ve moved mills, lathes and surface grinders into and out of my garage, including twice when I moved houses… and it was a long road to learn some of the easy tricks that pros use.
Anyway, hope this helps some of you who are either building heavy machines, or who are buying older machines as “good iron” for retrofitting.
