Hey everyone. Just a quick poll this morning, how much do you spend on filament (monthly) ?
I’m at about $20/mo, due to having to print things for hackerspace members.
$100 for a 10pound roll every 3 months or so.
so about $33/month
It depends - i have some months where i go through 80€ worth of filament and some where i don’t print at all. But my average probably is somewhere around 15€ or so.
20 rolls a month. USD 28/ rolls. 560 USD/ month.
Wow fortino. What are you printing ?
I use my printers to make cookie cutters. I make a living out of 3d printers. I have 6 delta printers that run more than 10 hours daily. Check my fb: jolly craft.
Very nice. Which printers do you find the most reliable?
I love delta printers over cartesian 3d printers. The mechanical designs are simple yet very efficient.
- Every axis movement are shared by 3 arms at all times. It means that there are virtually no backlash. A rigid printer stucture. Fast movement.
- The printed parts are stand still. No matter how big and how small your printed object, the quality is consistent.
- The printer designs are easily to be scale up or down.
Which delta printers do you have?
I built them. They comes various build volume. From small one 90 mm x 90 mm x 180 mm up to 250 mm x 250 mm x 600 mm. You can google: rostock 3d printer or kossel 3d printer. There is also deltabot group that is very active at the moment, sharing ideas and solution to delta printers development.
I started building a Kossel, but that project got stuck for a bit. Which version do you like better ? Rostocks or Kossels ?
I have both. Both are doing fine for me
