Check your slicer that the nozzle is 1,75 and not 2,85 e.g. cura has a habit of changing that on upgrades
@Michael_Scholtz I set these settings from scratch on s3D it is on 1.75 on filament diameter and 0.4 on the nozzle
Check 1st layer extrusion under the print profile. Saw that on one of my prints woth s3d the other day. It was printing fone with cura sliced gcode. Maybe also try creating a new macbine profile and leaving the settings fairly standard.
@Max_Moors I’d try changing your patterns or print settings. Different settings can just leave gaps in the prints. Maybe your nozzel diameter setting for printing the bottom layers is set to something smaller than what it should be. It seems like the printer itself is fine and the model must be fine so I’m guessing that it’s a setting in your software. Also, is it just this one print, or have you tried others? If you use Cure or another slicer that allows you to look at the individual layers, can you see the gaps there as well? Sometimes Cura will leave a gap in a print if the line widths are a little off. Adjusting that and wall thickness will fill in the gaps.
Hoi Mr. Moors - Only my 2 cents (maybe help?) :
I had the same problem when i 1st tried s3d. after 1 week and help in this community i found out that the “default” profile of s3d use - for whatever reason - 90% as extrusion multiplier. Changing to 100% made the trick…
@Karl_Schlacher that was actually the first thing I did when I was setting this printer up.
But thanks anyway
Just for the heck of it (after trying everything you guys said) I put the first layer width to 500% this is what came out… This printer is starting to annoy me so much…

@Max_Moors lol. It’s funny but it’s not funny. Idk what to tell you. I’ve never seen this issue and idk what the hell is going on. Have you tried resetting your slicer program to default settings?
@Kevin_Danger_Powers yep did that. Still nothing
@Max_Moors idk dude… I’ve never seen this issue before…
Looks like bed too low? Try measuring the thickness of first layer with a micrometer to check its what you expect?
@Piers_Bennett I am now printing even a bit to close for my comfort I calibrated the bed at 0.2 with a feeler gauge and adjusted it a little while printing. It should be at around 0.15/0.1 now
