hey guys. I just have a simple question for you today. Where do you get your filaments. Normal or specialty, and if you can pls say why you choose that filament so I can decide to what I need. and I know someone would say in the comments “well it depends on what you are using it for” so I’m using it some for structural mechanical pieces some need to be waterproof others flexible, I’m a all round hobbyist so I do everything.

I don’t know if it is still cost effective with so many <$25/KG USD filaments out there.

my material is about 50 cents a pound so it is when I use my industrial filament making machine. I’m almost ready to start selling it!

I buy hatchbox from Amazon (pla), it’s been good stuff. Yesterday I ordered some pla from maker geeks for the first time. We’ll see how it goes.

I am buying ESUN filament off of Amazon as a Prime member. However, Intservo, the reseller, offers free shipping if you buy multiple rolls direct.

I have gotten really good customer service from them, I just don’t recommend the basic white PLA. Haven’t tried the PLA+ to see if the white is better, but did order a few rolls of PETG from them, one of which is white.

Tried some sample ColorFabb PLA/PHA from Printed Solid, they seem like a good company. I had to oil the samples to prevent jams and don’t care much for the 750g rolls priced the same as other vendors 1kg rolls. Seems misleading on ColorFabbs part.

Tried to get a sample of Atomic filament, but never heard back. Really kicking myself on that one as they were at the Midwest RepRap Fesitval this year but I wasn’t shopping filament brands at the time.

Has anyone had any luck with BAMTac that seems new to Amazon. I had some blobbing issues, but I may need to tweak my settings.
