hey guys
i will get my beaglebone black in 2 weeks.
basically i m new in this field. I am from Electrical and Electronics branch. i have done project with arduino,atmega ,8051,but don’t know much about Linux andi know only C language,
can some one guide me plzz …

i mean i am not familiar with Linux . i know only C language. so how should i start learning it and which one should i use(language). and good links which can i follow for learning BBB.
for that needs guidance of someone

First, go to http://www.distrowatch.com and get a Linux version you like. If you like to really learn Linux, people say you can try Arch.
If Arch learning graph seems too steep, you can go for an easier distribution like Mint, Ubuntu, Fedora or any of their popular derivatives.
Install the distro, move around a bit…then learn the terminal which is so powerful and so vast that you will stay amazed for years. :slight_smile:

BTW, I am very curious as of why you are acquiring a BBB. Like a Pi, BBB can be your portable CPU and it can also create a robot. You should have a primary idea of the usage @sherya_Agarwal

I almost forgot, learning Linux is a fun experience, there are so many communities and forums and channels where you can get guidance.
I guess you would get to scripting soon if you stay sincere.
