Hey guys so I’ve been having this problem with my heater block. The filament seems to overheat in the heater block before it extrudes and causes clogs. In the pic below I dismantled my all metal hot end to have a closer look and that what I saw in the heating block… any thoughts on what could be done to resolve this problem? I have a cr10 byw

Is it a good brand heater/extruder? I know there are cheap ones available on ebay, but they can have issues.

There should be no space between the end of the barrel and the nozzle. Seeing that chunk there that is certainly not 1.75mm makes me think there might be a gap between yours.

@Mano_Biletsky_Open_M hmm interesting it’s a micro Swiss all metal hot end. I did notice that the heater block was coming loose from the rest of the assembly… could this be a reason why?

Yes. If there is space between the barrel and the block, the plastic accumulates in that space, pulling on the fillament you try to push through. Eventually it will burn and make even a bigger mess.

I had the same issue when i did not push my bowden tube all the way down. After i pushed it all the way down, the print quality was much better and there was less oozing and stringing.
