hey guys. The other day I was printing off a fridge shelf replacement and mid print my printrbot simple metal failed. As in it ripped itself apart (extruder broke off the carriage and fan wires got melted by the heater block), sadly I was not around to see this and arrived about 10 min after the accident. Rather annoyed I put the printer back together but didn’t restart the print because I was busy and didn’t want it to mess up again. Today I tried to print some cable organizers for my desk and realized that I could connect my printrbot simple metal to octoprint and instead tried to use cura. That also failed, so then I thought that the accident my have cause some firmware problems and I should try to reload it. So I grabbed my .hex, jumperd the boot pins , and pressed the reset button, but nothing happened. Usually you get that little sound saying windows has recognized a new hardware device, I also went into device manager to see if I could update the AT90USB128 driver but it didn’t show up there. I have tried on multiple computers with the same result. Is it possible that I fried the board? Or is there something else I can try?

Thanks

Have you contacted the manufacturer? They are pretty respected, and probably the best equipped to help you

@Rob_Nance Guess Ill give it a shot, just thought there might be an easy fix I missed

How long have you had it? Do you have an order number?

@Brook_Drumm well its been over a year, no order number but I have purchase recipt (bought it off http://buyapi.ca). I sent a ticket in but got rejected cuase it was over a year since purchase which I totally understand. I’ve had it ever since march 14 2016

Email me: brook@printrbot… send me your address. I can swap your board out for a used one that works. I’ll get that one back to see what happened. I can’t ship until Wednesday though.
Brook
