Hey @Sanjay_Mortimer ! I’m specing out the wiring for the next printer and want to make things pretty…What’s the Amperage draw for the e3d (v5 if it matters), so that I can make sure the connectors I order are up to snuff?

(thinking something like http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Molex/03-06-1061/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMuzXLcWrSfMr4AImWoNFp%2b4jWKmeDXbZCo%3D using 2 pair for heat, 2 for thermistor and 2 for fan) but they’re limited to 5 Amps. )

Heater cartridges, including the ones E3D uses, are typically 40W at 12V - which means 3.4A of current (while heating up).
So that connector should work just fine!

Do you not need two for hot end fan and two more for print fan?

Good point. I’m looking at the current printer and it doesn’t have a print fan. #goodcatch

What @Thomas_Sanladerer said!

I use Anderson PowerPoles for all my 12volt connections. I also did put them on my 3D printer. Working well.

Those look interesting, are the indexable? (Perhaps use Male-Female on one side and Female-Male on the other, with the same color)

They are genderless. One of the cool things about PowerPoles. Lots of accessories for them as well. Very popular in the Ham Radio world. (my other hobby).
