Hey so this is the printer while yes I need to do better cable management , it still isn’t working right. When I press the up button for the z axis it goes down when I press down it goes up. When I want to print something instead of going to the back and printing it pushes to the front and has the belt jump. Please help!
Fastest solution:power off, turn Z axis plug around on controller…it’ll reverse the direction requested.
@Mike_Miller it didn’t work .
Any other ideas ?
Almost everything can be changed in the firmware. You should start there. And what do you mean by ‘up button’?
Are you using Repetier host?
Up is down in Repetier. I know, it’s confusing.
Ok so I was able to change it so in repetier host up is up and down is down but the issue I’m having is still when tryin to run a print.
@Canny As far as I know, the up button in Repetier sends the bed and printhead further apart. Up as in increasing the distance between the two.
So what you have done is making it worse, I think.
In your video the printer does not seem to home the right way. In most firmwares you can specify what direction home should be, and here is where it can get tricky. When you set the direction of your motor the wrong way, and by also inverting the home direction, you can create a system that looks like it works, but will never print. It can be a bit confusing, but by carefully observing what’s happening, and only changing one variable in the firmware at once, you will work things out eventually. Keeping a log of the things you change in the firmware can help a lot.
Ok when I changed it , it rose the nozzle up making it get farther from the bed so now it works . Anyone know any good videos to learn how to home and calibrate ?
@The_Hot_End this is the video …
