Hey, thoughts on waterproofing a project.
Code is rock solid, power management is fine, perfboard soldered and running fine, but it’s situated where moisture levels are high.
It’s all encased in a project box, so I’m thinking, splurge the entire box with silicon ( the stuff for bathrooms), or resin, encase the thing forever?
Any thoughts?
I would recommend RTV. It’s flexible, waterproof and can be removed if repairs ever need to be made.
Potting the whole thing could give you unexpected heat problems. A spray-on or brush-on conformal coating should do the job (and would make repairs much easier).
RTV is a silicone similar to the bathroom caulk.
@Amanda_Walker conformal coating is good also.
have you thought about a water prove phone case?
You can get thermal conductive, but electrically insulating potting epoxy on eBay, there are also re-enterable potting compounds result available
I think for this project I’m gonna go with a waterproof box and some spray on coating.
Thanks all
