Hey wood guys!
@Alex_Krause
Working on this project for momma, used carpet tape to hold the piece down, thought that was what I saw you guys using.
She’s telling me that stuff is impossible to get off.
What are you guys using for work holding of wood? Can’t use my regular work hold downs.
Send me a hangouts @Brandon_Satterfield
I use regular masking tape and super glue.
Check this out…
Definitely masking tape and super glue technique is awesome. I’m using it on aluminum now too and it’s holding up great. I’ve used it before on plywood and walnut too and it didn’t budge even while doing 1/4" doc passes. I usually apply two of the 1.88" wide strips of masking tape to the stock then lay it on the bed mark where the masking tape lies and then apply tape to the bed. A quick line or two of super glue is then added to the bed tape and the stock is then carefully placed on top. Give it a minute or two to set and you’re done.
That’s pretty wild guys! I’ll give this a shot. She doesn’t pay me enough!
Ive been running around with a respirator on, my 2yo came out in the shop, told him he couldn’t be out here due to the wood dust. He looked around and said we need to get the water hose after this place.
Smart boy.
Vacuums are too loud. I remember why I don’t do wood every time I cut it.
I actually use the masking tape and super glue trick for 2mm aluminum I use for small brackets. Works great to keep thin stock held down.
