Hi all :) does somebody know of an open source project for CoreXY 3D

Hi all  does somebody know of an open source project for CoreXY 3D printer? my scrap built printer has reached its physical limits, so I’m planning a new construction, and I’m fascinated by the CoreXY movement

I will send you over my files. It is a wip so the cad version I have now is outdated. I plan to finalize it after I finish testing my latest changes.

What’s your preferred cad format.

woah, Thanks! I’m a solidworks user, so .sldprt would be great! (i have openscad but I never had the time to learn it) I hope I can help you testing the design and adding parts, if you want. I have a year experience with solidworks and designing for printing…

@Arturo_Farolfi I will work on updating the assembly over the next week with my current status. I would love help upgrading the model and making improvements.

Here is a link to my models back when it was hbot. It has since been converted to corexy. But they could give you an idea of my build before I get things updated: https://plus.google.com/109092260040411784841/posts/eTSfSxfnWRw

Model links are down in the comments.

@Arturo_Farolfi here are some pictures of the new y-end pieces I am working on (with some scrap rods between them to confirm fit and parallel). missing/deleted image from Google+

This is going to add 3" or more to my usable Z once I finish designing the x cart where I will be placing dual extruders.

fantastic work +Eric Lien ! sadly I’m limited to solidworks 2007, so I’ll have to use the step files… anyway, i have a final due this week, so I’ll be busy for a couple of days, then I’ll be back.

While not as elegant as Eric’s bot. This a CoerXY open source printer.

@Wayne_Friedt , the u conduit is a conventional H bot, not a true core xy

@Eric_Moy Thanks for the correction. Sorry for leading people astray with my subpar information

mine is still a work in progress, but does print very nicely… http://wolfmanjm.github.io/wolfhbot/

@Wolfmanjm why did I not know about your well documented machine before? I’ve always drawn a blank when people have asked about corexy designs in the past.

@Tim_Rastall well I haven’t publicized it much as I am constantly hacking at it. My Delta (aka wolfstock) is done and several people have built it. I am quite happy with the corexy now, but I think one more redesign of the X gantry is in order, then I’ll finalize the parts. One problem I recently ran into was the X carriage was printed and warped due to wheel pressure, I just cnc milled a replacement out of MDF which works great so far.

Jim jim jim! Nice work

@Wayne_Friedt , sorry about sounding so curt, was texting the reply before a movie was about to start, shame on me for being “that guy”. Anyhow, did not intend to sound like a DB. I’ve done a lot of searching for decent core xy designs in an attempt to build, but there appears to be no documented designs, until @Eclsnowman , and @Wolfmanjm apparently.

And Jim, most excellent instructions on your page, wow. Glad you linked this as Google apparently does not find it

@Eric_Moy No no its not a problem. Mt last statement looks kinda smart assish but it really was not. I had looked at that Uconduit bot when i was first getting into printers so it was a while back.

@Brigham_Valdez but that’s a hbot right, not corexy? Not sure what makes it a better proposition than @Wolfmanjm 's design, particularly as Jim has done such a good job of documenting it.

@Paolo_Amboni let me know, i’m curious! (anche in italiano se preferisci)
