Hi all! I also want to show my project: a hoodie with a 16x16 full color wearable matrix. The project is finished and “ready to wear” :).
Here I used ws2812b leds which controled by teensy board (so I could do more than 60 frames per seconds for smooth animation).
Totally cool @Tatiana_Kosyakova , looks great!
Any other info or photos you can share about the construction or app? Is the music actually driving the animation?
Awesome!! Can you wash it?
Very cool! Also wondering if you have a mic for music syncing, or just is a well produced video?
@marmil , @Mike_Clifford thank you! Right now it’s without mic, but I’m also thinking to add one and create visualization on the fly for “live” music (like an equalizer).
The visualization and the music is controlled programmatically, so they are really synchronized. For this we wrote a special app for android, which plays music (in MOD file format) and starts visualization (when a special “instrument” in file starts to play).
@Jesus_Vicente very good point) not this hoodie (I concentrated more on “wearable” part, not on “washable”
but theoretically it should be possible to do it (at least for manual wash): leds are “waterproof” and the board could be attachable. For the next version I’ll take this in mind
The audio/pixel synchronization is really super. I love the little fish animation too. Nicely done.
Wow, the MOD format has been around for a long time. Fun stuff!
@Tatiana_Kosyakova i took washability into consideration when desiging my LED ties. This next version will have the board completely enclosed and as waterproof as it gets. But the battery will still be detachable so you can wash it without any worry
you gotta think “if i were the customer and i bought this jacket how would i treat it?” Chances are, not very carefully. I like to test all my projects by giving them to my little brother. The greatest test of durability on earth. Small siblings lol
Could you post the .APK and .ino file? Id love to see your implementation!
