Hi All,

I posted in the forum but haven’t had any luck. Would love to try to build an OpenRC truggy however only having a rep2 I am stuck with PLA. Will this be alright? Are there any parts that absolutely have to be ABS in order to have a good time? Any suggestions would be great!

Hi and welcome +Shannon Roos ! I have very little experience with PLA so I hope someone else can pitch in here.

Hey Daniel Yeah I did have a bit of a search. Sounds like some people have tried it. There is a bit of discussion over the differential and pla but nobody that I can see that has a fully pla printed car. I’m certainly happy to try. Might build a rolling chassis and give it a push around.

I have a full PLA car. I knew before printing that there would be issues. The differentials worked until I started rolling it around a lot. Something in one of them has broken. I’ll tear it open tonight to see exactly what did. I also have a hub that cracked where the link arms connect. I have ABS and Nylon but am working on a enclosure before printing with those. All of my parts are 100% infill.
