Hi all. I removed a PEI sheet from my glass print bed but can’t get the adhesive off that I applied the PEI with. Anyone else have any tricks to removing it?
Limonene disolves 3M adhesive. I used this though: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003ZHOZRO/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Glue be gone works well.
Goo gone and some elbow grease.
If there is a 3M adhesive, you can follow this step by step manual (it works, I’ve tested it several times): http://manual.prusa3d.com/Guide/Replacing+the+PEI+sheet/133
Isopropyl alcohol and box cutter blades also work and doesn’t need freezing or dissolving as much.
I use goo gone with a scraper to get most of it off then detail it with IPA but mine was on a Prusa so it wasnt glass it was an ever more slightly fragile PCB i was cleaning the glue off of lol
Thanks for all the suggestions! So I didn’t have any of that stuff last night, but I stumbled across someone who said to spread peanut butter over it and let it sit overnight. I was pretty skeptical, but I figured I’d give it a shot and then go out and pick up something better today. I’m pretty impressed! Peanut butter removed probably 80% of the adhesive, so my work will hopefully be a lot less now! Something to consider if you’re stuck without any other options but your pantry is stocked
