HI all,
I would ask you for an advise about cableManagement system for your 3d printers ( or cnc machine for some of you who probably have one too ).
for now on my new prototype i’ll use ziptie … and cabon rod to keep it in form
i like the mendel90 system.
i’m thinking about cable drag chain now but i’ve no idea how easy to use this is.
and what kind of plug do you use for your hotEnd and tempSensor to easy swap between multiple one
so did you have some tips ?
i’ll try different approach
I have molex polarized connectors very near (but not too near) the thermistor and hot end. All the wiring hides in a piece of split plastic conduit, the kind you tuck the wire into the split. Works pretty well and you can break out the wires at different points easily. When necessary, the loom (that’s the word for it, I think) comes right off and you can get to the wires.
Zipties (or waxed string). If you want to hide the wiring or make it look pretty you can get the split tube that @Understanding_3D_Pri mentioned for really cheap. Just remember to not over constrain or create wear points.
I use the mendel90 system, but since I couldn’t find the same type of plastic Nophead uses , I designed my own system that I bolt onto the ribbon cable. The first version broke after a while, but this one is printed slightly different so it will be interesting to see how it holds up.
For the connectors I use screw terminal which I fasten to the extruder motor with zip ties. Haven’t had to replace anything yet, but the mendel90 is my working printer, so I don’t tinker with it a lot.
