Hi all,

In a few months I will have my printer on display as part of a larger 3D printing event. It will be headlined by the big guys but I will have a small booth representing the hobby element.

I am not presuming to speak for the RepRap project, but it would be nice to have a poster board or something behind the running printer giving a little background.

Has anyone here done something like this before? Any advice you could provide/ Any resources you know of that I could pull from?

Thanks!

I put on a little show for a few hours a couple of times a week at a local rapidly served food place. So I can’t put up posters. Some people really want to touch something to make it real for them. So I have a bag with every last passable thing I’ve printed with me and put some out. Big and little girls love dragons, Men and boys like the standard Maker nut and bolt combo. Nice people get something.

I agree with 2 out of the 3 suggestions made by @Mark_Rehorst with the exception of the “how much does it cost” one. Primarily because at a MakerFaire - you want to be showing off what you’ve made. Selling should (in general) be a secondary reason why you are there.

Check out http://spoonflower.com. they color print whatever you want on fabric, wallpaper…I have heard they make a great alternative to scientific posters.
