Hi all new to this but would like to build a 3d printer on a budget in the uk not after anything special just a good starting platform any advice welcome

Hi Adam. I am in the UK… I have built two printers on a budget, a prusa I3 box and a rostock delta… both were made for roughly 300 quid… If I could recommend a good printer to build it would be a Mendel90 design by another brit called nophead… If you do decide to go for one I can provide the printed part… I am on http://emakershop.com… there are other sellers on there too that provide other parts, electronics, vitamins etc. at reasonable prices…

Will greatly depend on your budget and mechanical skills. A friend of mine built a @Printrbot kit and it has worked well for him, and I’ve seen a couple of Reprap and Mendel productions. Getting pre-cut mechanicals (frame work stuff) seems to improve the initial success rate.

Printrbot is a good shout, so is RepRapPro Ormerod from RS Component or for a slightly more capable bot you can get an aluminium Prusa i3 kit with e3d hot end from here http://www.emakershop.com/browse/kits
