Hi all, thought I would share some development on printable bearings and printable bearings with PTFE.

The first part is just an LM8LUU printable bearing, nothing special about this and others have made similar. Thingiverse link below:

The next is a hybrid type using 2mm PTFE tube inserts, I am also working on other variants of this and looking at filling the tube with household sealing silicone to prevent the tubes collapsing over time. Thingiverse and Youtube link below:

This was the latest test using 4mm PTFE rod for a prototype camera slider based on 500mm carbon fibre rods. Thingiverse and Youtube link below:

Nice, I like the PTFE tube rails.

Thanks, still a bit of a work in progress, I have a SCU88 with 4mm PTFE rod I am working on as well.

I just recently switched over from the steel bearing Lm8 to a printed Lm8 ABS bushing and I have to say they are massively quieter. They do have more initial friction but I have to say it is worth it. I have plans to try them in Nylon, but the Ptfe looks very promising. Anything that makes the printer quieter makes my wife happy!

I love the PTFE tube insert idea! Let us know how that works.

@Jeremiah_Coley sounds good, one of the other aims is just to reduce weight and therefore ringing in the print. I will move to a Bowdan setup eventually as well.

@allanGEE Thanks, will post any news here as well as Thingiverse in future.
