We are proud to announce we are now taking over the management of http://www.3dprinting-forums.com, one of the main 3D printing forums for the global community.
Hope it’s ok to post this here but we would really love to invite everyone to also join us there, and we hope to have some cool feature/stuff coming up soon.
I am proud to announce that I will never use your forum due to the incredible amount of spam you have been broadcasting on all 3D printing related websites and communities. A job well done.
Hi Shachar, we’re sorry that you feel our posts are spam. We’re just looking to share some of the stuff we do with the community. Incidentally, we also don’t post a lot but largely just kick back and read stuff mostly too …
I don’t know whom you “took over” from, but that person spammed every channel and community that I know of for weeks. Including here, with multiple users that were all banned. They sent PM on thingiverse, they posted ‘controversial’ gun-related bullshit on Reddit to try to lure people to start an argument. It was pathetic and annoying.
If you’re really trying to properly run those forums, you should probably sort through the posts and users and also look into rebranding (including a new domain) and redesigning the whole site. The forum’s ill repute is already starting to wear off onto your name.
I’m sorry @Funbie_Studios , but I’m also tired of the crap from that domain. I’d suggest not posting about it here any more; their reputation and “taking it over” almost cost you a ban. They really did spam anyone and everyone, to the point of making multiple accounts and I don’t want their URL here ever again. The RepRap forums are an engrained, community, open source oriented area which I point people to. Just making a domain “http://3dprinting-forums.com” does not make you “one of the main printing forums for the global community” and asserting that you are only serves to further the scummyness that is that damn site.
@Robert_Wozniak I think you might be right. I stand by my other assertion that simply having a name like “http://3dprinter-forums.com” does not make you “one of the main printing forums for the global community”, especially when you only have a total of 800 registered members.
Hi Everyone, My name is Aaron and I’m the previous owner of 3DPrinting-Forums.com. We had some spam problems earlier on the forum, but i did manage to clean it up. I think there has been a huge misunderstanding, I have never posted links on redit (that i can rmember) and i have never posted gun related material. And i have never been on google + before! This is my first time! Could you guys help me by posting the sources of this spam? I would really like to follow this up and get to the bottom of this. barbecue the Spam certainly did not come from me. The most ‘Spam’ i have even done was PM a few users over shapeways, and posting on some facebook groups. I would like to get to the bottom of this.
I recommend you go back, revisit the site security, and work on promoting a positive image for that brand. Currently, anyone defending the site is suspect due to complete lack of credibility.
Hi Cliff, please post the link to the Spam in question.
My domain is http://3dprinting-forums.com
Not 3dprintBoards.com or http://3dprintingforum.com Do not confuse them. Please show me the spam. . If it’s on redit, show me the link. If it’s on any other forum or web page, please show me the link. I would like to track it down and get to the bottom of this. Because i am really confused with all this negativity.I just want to get down to the bottom of this. Thanks very much.
@Aaron_Issac you’re right, some of the spam I remember on this community (it gets complety deleted on G+) came from http://3dprintboard.com .
The main problem is probably that all those generic names are inherently easy to confuse and therefore seem to share their reputation for bystanders.
How about branding it specifically as the Funbie Forums? That would IMO be a distinct enough name to differentiate your forum from the others.
@Thomas_Sanladerer Thomas, thanks very much for the help. It’s possible to do a rebrand. I don’t mind actually. But i’ll have to talk to my team. And if you have any ideas on how to improve (or if you want to help out) I am more then happy too. I started this forum about a year and a half ago, i grew it mainly by posting my own articles and helping my members when ever i can. I am the owner of http://polychemy.com, so i do know a little about 3dprinting, especially about the 3D and software side of things.Though I’m still learning. BTW it’s nice to meet you guys, i didn’t realize there was such a active community on google+
