Hi everybody and a nice Sunday. Any Rumba users here? I was wondering if it would be possible to connect a double z-axis printer to only one motor outlet. The Rumba has screw terminals as well as pin headers on all motors. The goal is to get the z axis to turn in sync and to save a driver for another project.

Did you buy it from RepRapDiscount? I thought the originals included a splitter for the motors.

If you wire the motors in parallel, you get half torque each. If you wire them in series, you get half top speed. Either is probably fine for Z screws. They don’t need much torque or speed.

I use a Rumba+. Hadn’t thought much about it yet, as I’m still playing with the multiple extruders, but I expect what Ryan says to be true.
