Hi everyone! I am a new member and this is my first post and I have NO previous experience with any of this! I have my R7 built and running but after all the reading and research I have done I feel like i’m still quite in the dark…I did a run of the chilipeppr logo with a marker and it did good then downloaded a file from http://www.positiveflow.com/freecode.htm and it said it was in inches. When I tried to do a dry run using UGS it was running but barley moving. So with a little research I thought I had to do a block start up $N0=G20 to set GRBL to inches but it still won’t work. Also when running the chilipeppr logo I didn’t get the “R2D2” Sound,upsetting, lol. Thanks in advanced!

Switch CNC.js or Chilipeppr. Unfortunately can’t give much info on UGS.
Congrats on getting the build done. Making Gcode and feeds and speeds are an entire new game to learn. It is part of the experience. Once you get this down though the world is your oyster.
UGS worked fine for the few tests I did. I really like having CoolTerm to send raw data to the TinyG. It has no features but it eliminates all the big software for debugging purposes.
