@Roger_Kolasinski for now I just wanted to put it on the house yes but it’s for a game room
That screenshot looks like a reasonable choice to me for 'duino control via FastLED…
…just be aware of power consumption if you mean 4 rolls of 5 meters! Worst case is about 60 milliamps / LED; it adds up quick.
@Chad_Eby Thank so much you have been a great help
yes I’m aware of the voltage and amps I think a 10 to 20 amp power supply will do it. and I can run power to each strip separately.

Hi @KC_KC
You have to be fairly careful with these strips. They are essentially copper foil on a plastic film substrate. Therefore they can twist and kink in a way that destroys them if not treated with care.
I say this because you want to use them as Christmas lights, then re use them.
In terms of controller. If you dont want to go the Fastled route (program your arduino) initially, then there are several choices on the market, search youtube for ws2811 t1000s
That style controller can be had quite cheaply and is pre programmed with standard chase and wipe sequences. Some even come with RF remote or can read an SD card (which holds pattern data for replay).
@Stuart_Taylor your absolutely right those are great for outdoors Thank you so much. I have already ordered them. But it’s ok I’m going to place them in a game room it’s really what I want them for. . But definitely I will be getting those as in the near future. . For out side.
Thx
I do want to go the FastLed but I don’t know how to get the software / program for the Arduino. And I don’t know what Arduino bored I should get .
Arduino software: https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Software
FastLED library: https://github.com/FastLED/FastLED
Installing the Arduino IDE: https://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/HomePage
Installing Arduino libraries: https://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/Libraries
FastLED documentation: https://github.com/FastLED/FastLED/wiki/Overview
Andrew’s ever helpful Q&A: http://tuline.com/fastled-support-qa/

What board to get is a really broad question; far too many dependencies. For middle-of-the-road compatibility, I’d suggest an Uno.
