Hi everyone! I’m going to finish my CNC mechanic and, when I don’t use the drill, I want to mount an extruder to print something in 3D! Can you tell to me some extruder? It’s only one try, so I don’t want to spend a lot… But obviously if I have to spend, I spend in something good
have you some suggestion? Thanks a lot!
If you are only planning on one print I would use shapeways or imateralize.
The extruder has 2 parts hot end that melts plastic and a cold end that pushes plastic. The best hot end is from e3d, a cheap but useable hot end is the ubis ( you can get it from printrbot). You need to have control ports on your cnc for the heater and the thermistor. And room for another stepper.
Ok, I’ll check for hot end. And what’s about cold end? Maybe I can make they printed by a friend? Or I can get parts already printed? I saw also some fully assembled extruder, with hot, cold end, motors, bearings and wires. What do you think about those? Thanks!
I don’t know alot about them. Know that there are 2 design types (bowden and direct feed) one is for light weight compact designs, the other is for straight forward designs. I really think it may be a bear to setup. I did see a project that used the 3d pen as an extruder
