Hi everyone! i’m planning to get my first cnc machine and further research brings me to which controller i should get. Only 2 options i got right now and its Tinyg, which is quite cheaper and the other is the gecko g540 which we know is “IT” driver controller in the CNC world. I basically going to use my cnc with my woodworking workshop. Ive read some good feedbacks about the tinyg.
need some tips, or better yet some first hand experience and feedback to the two controller.
I have no basis for comparison but why not throw the smoothie board in the mix. It is amazing with almost anything you need onboard.
Has usb, SD card, networking, and a built in Web user interface. As well as options for 3 to 5 axis. Mosfets for fans, heaters, and spindles. Lcd screen upgradeable.
I know it not cheap but cheap enough. I have not had any issues yet with mine.
Would advise to look at both user interfaces prior to committing.
You can view and play with chilipeppr with out the controller, and depending on what you would use with the smoothie, same applies. Think I was using something very simple like repetier host with smoothie when I gave it a try. One is simply going to feel better to you.
