Hi folks !
I am looking into printing/ building a simple RC car for my son’s birthday (I insist on simple !) , was thinking perhaps of the Flutter Scout: http://community.flutterwireless.com/t/introducing-flutter-scout/208
do you have other nice & simple printable RC car models that you know of ?
thanks in advance !

For simple 3d printed r/c cars this is as simple as it gets. There are other projects but all more complex, or more expensive. Just don’t drive this one through water, it will fry.

I printed and built this. The hardest part was trying to find the right size tires. It’s not a looker, but it is a cool project to build because everything is 3D printed so you don’t need a bunch of nuts and bolts.

The parts fit pretty good straight off the printer, and I recall only having to do some minor work on the axles. Depending on Jr.'s age, this would probably be perfect because it works pretty good and is DURABLE.

@Tim_Sills What were the tires you used?

@MidnightVisions , I don’t recall which ones I ended up with as I’d built the car 2 years or so ago, but I remember the issue being both the tire width and rim size. My son and I have some short course trucks so we’re not new to RC cars, but local hobby store had one option that’d fit but they were $10/tire. I had no CAD skills back then but now I’d be able to easily make new rims and axles to accommodate what the local shops carried. I ended up getting some off-brand tires online.
