Hi Guys! Can somebody tell me which end mill will provide a smoother cut? I’m using 1/16" diamond cut fish tail, but I also have 2 flute an 4 flute… Which one will provide me with a better cut? or what’s the difference between them?

Generally more flutes results in a smoother cut. The tradeoff is chip ejection. More flutes have problems with ejecting the chips so that’s why plastics are better cut with a single flute endmill. http://makezine.com/magazine/make-40/endmills/

@Neal_Wallace thanks Neal! So for fiber glass (g10) what do u think it would work better?

For G10, the diamond-cut carbide burr is the one you want to use. Dust collection is a must - you don’t want that stuff in your lungs. If you can, mill this stuff outside.

@Matt_Miller thanks Matt! I’m trying to be as careful as possible when cutting by always having a vacuum straight to the table… I also got one of those green filters for the shop vac. :slight_smile:
