Hi guys! How can I set Cura for the Prusa i3 Hephestos?
I use Cura and OctoPrint together, works for me. What issues are you having?
In case it is your first start of Cura, it should have asked you, what kind of printer you have.
(If you’ve already had it running, go to “Machine” > “Machine Settings” and choose “Add new machine”.)
In the dialog select “Other” and then “Prusa Mendel i3”.
Enter the correct maximum printsize (for the Hephestos it’s 215 x 210 x 180 mm) and change the other values if you like, but they’re not as important.
Bq offers some preconfigured profiles on their site, which you can get here: https://static-bqreaders.s3.amazonaws.com/file/Prusa/Perfil_Extrusion_Cura.zip
If you load one of these (via “File”>“Open Profile”), make sure to edit your End-GCode!
It contains a line (G1 Z200 F{travel_speed}) which makes the Z-Axis go to 200mm high after a finished print, which is more than is possible!
Change that to a lower value like 180, or better yet, open the profile files in a text editor and delete the “end.gcode” part and rename the “end2.gcode” to “end.gcode”
