Hi Guys, I want to ask you, which printer and scan may do the best work on copying a teddy bear, fur and everything. Thanks Im super new to this technology.
Most any reputable machine big enough to print the size you want in plastic. Then coat the bear form with synthetic fur and add any details like eyes-buttons claws, etc.
Before you ask questions, do a little basic research first. There are a million articles out there that detail what a 3D printers limitations are. Currently, I believe fur is pretty much out. However, there are some things Disney is doing with felt “printing” that could almost achieve what you’re asking for. However, like @Kenneth_Cummings suggested, you’d have to post-process.
Fur is too “noisy” for a scanner to recreate though. Even a modicum of research would have told you that.
And the best advice I can give you…don’t try to shoehorn 3D printing into everything. This is quite possibly the worst technology you could use to copy a teddy bear. 3D Scanning too. Loading up ZBrush/Sculptris and letting your artistic side take hold would likely yield more worthwhile results.
This dog by @Alex_Lee is about the closest you will get to it on the 3D printers availabe to us https://plus.google.com/114086982232006265269/posts/Hw5xCdA2MKQ
