Hi guys, I was hoping you could help me as I am pulling out my hair. I have just recently reinstalled the latest version of LW 4 and I am testing a few things out.

When I test a vector the Gcode generates just fine. When I test a raster however the Gcode generates with just an S value for laser intensity without the M3 before it.

Result is that the laser never turns on, the laser head just moves back and forth. To rectify, I have to export the gcode to a text file. Find and replace all the S values with M3 S. Save it and import to LW4. Then it works just fine.

I have checked the settings a thousand times and I have set the laser intensity to M3 S but I still get the same issue with Rasters only. Am I missing something?

I am running GRBL with version 1.1e and LW4 version 4.0.990.

Go to settings and under machine profiles select Generic GrBL machine and press apply. That will load the apporuate configuration for GrBL under the gcode tab

Make sure also that the pwm max value is the same as $30 in your firmware

Hi Ariel, Thanks for the reply. I have checked these but it makes no difference. I have tried several times to change the ‘laser intensity value’ but it makes no difference to the G-code that is generated. Each time it looks the same. I have even tried arbitrary values like Y or 5. It does not look like changing this setting has any effect at all. Please help?

@albertino_dos_santos this was a long time ago. Post screenshot of your grbl config and also the LW settings. Also why king of laser do you have?
