@Filemon_Schoffer Just to let you know about the whitespace. It is part of the image used for the Open-Graph Meta Tags in your website Header. Open-Graph is the facebook scheme meta data provided to from your site to get published while someone links to your website. G+ also has an own scheme, but has a fallback to Open-Graph.
So you use:

And you see the image is including the white space. you need to change this link above to change the image shown when someone links to your website.
You also could provide some other tags like the following for directly talking to google-plus
