Hi Guys. I’ve been lurking for a while while I get the hardware conversion to a smoothie board done. I’ve finally got it hooked up today but am having a (probably newb) problem.

I’ve installed the LaserWeb4 binary (v0.4.0). When I run it I can connect to the USB Serial port and get the Firmware detected message.

When I got to the control screen it says not connected in red at the top and I cant manually jog the laser at all. Any ideas?

I should probably add that I can move axis etc through Pronterface.

Strange… Once you successfully connect in the comms tab, it should just work. There are no error messages after the Firmware detected message indicating problems or disconnect?
Are you running the latest CNC firmware for Smoothie?

ah, that’s probably the problem - I think i used the edge firmware - will change and update. Thanks.
