Hi guys, i've calibrated my extruder and x y z axes perfectly,

Hi guys, i’ve calibrated my extruder and x y z axes perfectly, but yet again i am experiencing this issue. Altough i am increasing the feed there is underextrusion signs on my top layer. What might be causing this problem?

esun pla+, 205C, 40mm/s, 4mm retraction, 0,2 layer thickness, 0,4mm nozzle, sliced with slic3r.

Yes, i have a fan to cool hotend and barrel. After some fine tuning, 205C is the best result for good surface finish, other than that i 've tried it between 190-230C. Always the same issue. In tall objects, there is “missing line” problem that related to retraction distance. Wide object like in the photo there is under extrusion on top layers. I am dealing with this problem for 2 weeks.

Nobody needs to calibrate x y and z. Nobody. It just results out of your steppermotor angle (1.8deg), your microsteps and your belts/rods. Ive calculatet 80 steps/mm and its perfect. If something is wrong its either E-Steps, extrusionmultiplier, your measure of the filament diameter or loose belts.

@David_Sherwood Actually it’s not a bowden setup. Just a regular aluminum heat block and throat. Yes, it only appears after retraction. My ret. speed is 30mm/s, i’ve printed calibration cubes with different retraction distances, (0-6mm) When it’s get lower, there are less missing layers. But not perfect print. When enable “retract on layer change” and “wipe while retraction” options with 2mm retraction, print quality good on the calibration cube. But unfortunately not on the other prints. I’ve tried simplify 3d, cura and Slic3r but never tried kisslicer. I’ll give it a try. This problems also began when i switched to autolevel. I wonder it autolevel feature hasn’t level perfectly. By the way thank you for helping.

@Hamza_DOGAN to your problem now: pla is shitty to extrude. Standard slic3r settings uses very wide extrusionwidth. Try setting the standard/defaultwidth to 0.4 and the rest to 0 and see what happena

@VolksTrieb measured filament diameter, averall 1,71-172mm, extrusion multiplier is 1, e-steps are correct. I’ve printed test cubes, with 0.42mm perimeter, Gcode says, it must be 0.4mm, it seemed close enough so i didn’y modify the extrusion multiplier to get a perfect 0.4mm. Thank you for helping.

@VolksTrieb my settings are exaclty like that.

I’ve done all of that. I’ve lowered my retcration to 2mm. How is your stringing on 2mm retraction. Mine has a lot of stringing under 4mm.

@Hamza_DOGAN how does your drive gear look like? Any chips in on or beside it?

@VolksTrieb No chips, filament goes smoothly.

@Hamza_DOGAN well then something is certainly wrong. What goes in must come out xD

In slic3r under advanced settings manually change the extrusion width to equal your nozzle dia. Increase the number of top layers by 1

Smaller text are difficult to print with 0.4mm nozzle. Also, the printer should be capable of printing that fonts also. What font is that? I was successful printing with Arial Black and Arial Rounded with reduced speed upto 20mm/s

I suggest to check your temperature again.

Keep retraction at 2mm, but bump up the temp to say 210, and see if the stringing goes away.

I had the problem when printing too cold, I would get a lot of stringing in my prints, realising that I was printing too cold for my roll of PLA solved my problem.

Another thing you should try is to print 3 or 4 top layers. You can also increase your Infill to see if that helps…

@Dushyant_Ahuja Yeah, probably do that now from on.

@Selvakumaran_Ganesan It’s a default Solidworks font, actually i am amazed by the text’s print. I thougt it would never print it since it’s too small.

@Panayiotis_Savva It literally makes no diffrence, I’ve tried it but there is too much stringing that my cheap PLA almost didn’t have any stringing and has a better quality. Since i start the use esun pla+ my prints gone worse.

@Hamza_DOGAN esun petg is nice but abs is not really abs either its dirt cheap or has some other monomers/polymers in it. Pla the same. Did not get good results from esun pla… Get yourself something from the mid range pricing. Not perfekt but better it works or your throwing away plastic you safed the money from lol

Thank you, i am definetly going to do that? I will not buy esun again.
