Hi Guys, Not too happy with this print.

Hi Guys, Not too happy with this print. Do you think its over extruded filament. Should have turn down the extrude multiplier down. Using Verbatim PLA @ 214, layer height 0.25 , double skin . You advice , criticism will be welcome.

What’s your extrusion setting?
Slicer?

I am using Simplify3D and the extrusion is set to 99%.

What speed did you use?

There are a lot of small movements to generate the fine detail.

Retraction settings are a good starting point. Blobs on the exit of pillars are a good indicator (retraction speed) and any tendency to string (retraction amount).

Ringing and overshoot on edges can be adjusted with XY Jerk setting but I would ensure your belts are correctly adjusted first.

And this is one of those objects that might benefit from a lower print speed.

What’s the extrusion width set to, seems there might be over extrusion happening in the perimeter walls causing the ripples.

Clearly overextrusion. Recalculate your esteps.

This looks like over extrusion also check your filament temperature…

Try reducing temp by 5-10 degrees
