Hi guys quick question,

Hi guys quick question, when wiring homing/limit switches do I just attach one wire to ground and one to 3v? Or do I attach to ground and Xmin or Xmax for example? My switches will be set as NC, I also ran my switch wire in the same bundle as my spindle and motors  hopefully I don’t get a bunch of noise giving false signals.

Put one side of the NC switch to gnd and the other to the desired input switch. Ie xmin etc. I think you will be OK with he noise since you are using NC switches. But again who knows you will just have to test it.

The TinyG already has pullup resistors on the board, so you should connect the switch between ground and the input on the TInyG.

Personally, I’d run the limit switches in their own shielded cable.

Running my unshielded USB cable next to my spindle power supply wires caused my USB comms to stop as soon as the spindle was turned on.

Great thanks guys. I read the Synthetos instructions it was just the term ā€œinputā€ that confused me because that is not labeled on the board and I didn’t want to plug into wrong spot and destroy something.
also I want my home position to be back left corner not front left corner. I suppose I just put the switch on Ymax not Ymin to do this?

I know I will pick up some noise but I was hoping the caps on the tiny G would help to eliminate some of that issue, that and setting my switch in the NC position.
If this fails I will just run new wire separate from the others.
