Hi i downloaded the zip file. from thing…
is it just enough to bring it to 3d print store? or i need to provide more info there?
I recently started printing my Truggy. My comments below are based on what I have been able to figure out so far.
You want to specify what type of plastic you want the parts made out of. It seems that PLA is definitely not acceptable and a majority of parts are being made from ABS. Though there is a lot going into trying out new materials for some parts.
You also want to tell them how much infill to use for which parts. It seems that most mechanical or stressed parts should be 100% infill and some of the less critical ones like the battery holder etc could be sparse infills.
It’s also important to keep the effect that layer orientation has on strength in mind. If you are going to a place with commercial machines that print support material and have a heated chamber then you can easily optimize the orientation for the stresses you anticipate the part to experience. If you go somewhere with consumer type machines then you will be at the mercy of the part geometry/overhangs. Most of the projects here have been done on consumer level printers.
Since you are going to be going to pay to have your parts printed, I’m going to make a shameless plug here for my makexyz and 3D Hubs pages. http://www.makexyz.com/printer/bmmal and http://www.3dhubs.com/madison/hubs/madtown3d I have a Stratasys FDM machine that I’m printing my parts with ABS on. I am happy to provide you a quote if you are interested. It will likely be more costly than an operator of a consumer level machine would charge but I will consider everything I mentioned above for you as well.
wel 2 questions are the files double inside? cause i have that feeling.
and other is what would a quote be.?
I downloaded my set off of Github. It looks like old component revisions have been put into folders. I believe there are some cases the same part file needs to be printed multiple times though.
By quote I mean pricing - it will take me some time to figure out. Where are you located? I do not know what import tariffs etc would be if you are not located in the US.
I will work on a quote for the printing over the weekend. I did a quick check and my price of the front half of the bottom chassis plate would be about $70 (US). i.materialise (located in Europe) Would charge $122.
