I finally bought myself a 3D printer, I took a punt and got the new FlashForge Finder. I am a total beginner but I am eager to learn. I thought I would share my experience with you.
I have since had this little (or maybe not so little) running every evening and I have found it to be super simple to use. Designing 3D models is certainly the hardest part for me but hopefully I will get better with practice. Most of the successful prints have been from the awesome contributors over at Thingiverse. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGOHo3KBlKY
@Philippe_Siccardi As a beginner I have found it really easy to use but I would need to spend a bit more time with it to recommend it to everyone. I certainly love it though :0)
@David_Watts I use SketchUp for designing parts (mostly cases and similar right angled shapes for my “Maker” projects). It is really easy to use and can output STL’s for 3D printing.
@David_Watts1 thanks for replying Btw i really like your youtube channel ! i look forward to seing more 3d printing stuff on your channel. Btw, do you do the youtube stuff full time or do you have a real job ?
