Hi
I have a reprappro meldel tricolor with melzi electronics and marlin formware and cant get gcodesimilator to connect to the printer. I know the connection between my tablet works from other app.

Any ineard?

Best
Jørgen

Yep, I have a RepRapPro with melzi too  I think you may just need to change the baud rate (long press connect) tag me and let me know if it works for ya

Have tried that with no luck

What are the symptoms, you plug the RRP into your OTG cable and do you get a popup asking to “let gcodeprintr use this USB device”?

what is printed on the console ?

I’m off to bed, but happy to help tomorrow, just tag me so I don’t lose the thread

The tablet pops up with the “let gcoderprintr use this usb device” and starts up nicely. When hitting connect the consol reports “no valid response from printer” I have checked the device id etc are on the list of supported devices

@Jorgen_Larsen can you send me a report out of the app ? (long press on console,-> send email)

Yep. I will do that right away @Jarred_Baines

It have been send. @Mathias_Dietz

hm, can you enable debug logging and retry. I see that reset on init is disabled, is this by intention ?

Yes that was something i teied. I can enable it again.

yes, please enable it again and enable debug logging.
Please disconnect the otg adapter from the device, wait 5 seconds and reattach it. (sometimes my samsung has similar problems, reconnecting helps in most cases) .
Send me the console output with debug data. thx

It is send. Have tried the unplugging thig without help

hm,you are 100% sure that your printer baud rate is 115200, right ? The printer does only respond with a “d” instead of a full welcome message and the M105 command is not answered at all.

Yep. That is what i use from my pc

you wrote that it works with another app. Which app ? any special settings used (stopbit, parity,…) ? Is the other app still started and my block the device ?

It was droidproto. I did not setup anything in that app, and it is not running more since uninstalled it again since I did not find it that good.

when “Waiting for printer response” is printed, it shoul take ~15 seconds until the error is logged. Can you please try to manually push the reset button on you printer right after the “waiting…” and see if the printer is sending more

That did the trick. With the manual reset is works
