I have some problems with my 3D printed bed (on a bq hephestos 2)… The glass bed is broken (some small bits of glass get glued to the print) and when printing upon those holes the filaments bend to the hole (obviously).
I’m wondering if there is anything that I can do to fix it or at least improve the bed. Maybe, it can be a good moment to buy a new bed (a heated bed so I can print abs and other materials).
Fast and cheap answer is to just get a piece of glass or mirror that is the same size and just clip it on with some bulldog clips? Otherwise, I’d suggest a heated build plate replacement AND some glass sheets you can clip on top. It can be nice to remove the loose plate/print and wrestle with it outside the printer… if you break something, it’s only a cheap piece of glass. 3mm should be about the right thickness.
As for repairing the original… There might be a way with epoxy or auto body filler, but you would have to put a build surface over top such as one of the sticky tape types. The fillers would be just as likely to stick to the extruded material as they are to the glass I would think.
Now that I think of it, a thickish sheet of PEI with 3M adhesive might do the trick if the pitting isn’t too bad on the glass…
No tuve nunca ese problema. Pero para no estar lidiando con cinta kapton voy a colocar una placa de 1,5mm de aluminio. Podría ser una solución. Suerte!
