hi I´m new at 3D printing and have a few questions
my machin is a mendel i3 that comes wiht a1,75mm extruder I want to know if ther´s any easy way of using a 3mm filament insted and also what is mad off the plate for the hot bed because mine uses stiky paper as suport for the pla to stik tothe plate

Welcome to the community! If I were you I would stick to 1.75. It’s generally easier to print with. You would need to modify your extruder and hotend to run 3mm (it’s actually 2.85mm but everyone calls it 3mm). 1.75 is becoming the standard and having used both, I much prefer 1.75.

Can you give more detail about your bed? Most of the time you can just use blue painters tape for PLA, but if you have a heater bed I would highly recommend buying a sheet of PEI. It’s great to print on for abs, pla, and a lot of other materials.
