Hi, im just a kid who uses a crappie 3d printer at school.

You have start somewhere.

Did the same man, then saved up to buy my own :slight_smile: best decision of my life:ok_hand:

@The_Good_Barbarian But it is a 3D printed part! What printer and what slicer? Maybe we can help improve the print quality.

@Jeff_Parish makerbot no slicer

@The_Good_Barbarian uhhhh theres got to be a program that will take stl’s and turn them into gcode…

@The_Good_Barbarian Why did it have to be that printer? >:(
Really hard to custom tweak things on those.

I think you mean that the slicer is the one that comes with the Makerbot software.

Would your school be interested in a better printer? :slight_smile:

@Jeff_Parish we have one at our school to, Idk why a lot of schools default to them

@Matthew_Del_Rosso I don’t know why either. I help the schools in my area with training and support of their 3D printers. I have dropped support of Makerbots because of all the issues and expense of maintenance.

@Jeff_Parish even tho Im a student, I also do repairs on our 6 3d printers. We have 4 affinia printers, 1 makerbot, and one other that im not sure tge name of, but its our best one and industrial grade… Its a really good and reliable printer

@Matthew_Del_Rosso I’m interested in the name of your last printer. The primary printer I support has proven very reliable and capable of producing very high quality prints. One school has 9 of them. I visit maybe twice a year to fix things they can’t. Always nice to walk in and see all 9 printing away. Printer #10 sits there gathering dust. One guess what brand it is. :slight_smile:

@Jeff_Parish hmmm let me guess, Makerbot?? :joy: Ill see if I can find out the name of the last printer for you. As I have never done maintenance I never had the need to remember its name :slight_smile:

@Jeff_Parish nope lol
