Hi, is there some FOSS/OSHW way to drive 3A+ stepper drivers ?

Linisteppers and thb6064-based drivers both have schematics and layouts available. http://www.massmind.org/Techref/io/stepper/THB6064/index.htm being an example of the latter. I use Lini’s but at 3A they’re going to run really hot. They’re barely surviving at 2.5A.

@John_Bump good answer, I had forgotten about those.

I bought a set of prebuilt linis and then a set of the 6064’s from @James_Newton . Both designs have done well for me. I would have fabbed the pcb’s but it was hard to beat his prices.

@Josh_Rhodes I like this design https://www.vbesmens.de/en/stepper-driver-board.html it’s completely OSHW from Germany, unfortunately they don’t sell any PCB or a final product.

@John_Bump @Edgar_Robles_Najar , thank you for your answers. Will investigate 6064 option… But first have to ingest and digest all the relevant knowledge on http://massmind.org, and practice my soldering fu !
Seems like HP steppers will have to wait future upgrade and that v1 will use TinyG or Smoothieboard builtin drivers…
Thanks again
