try adding http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:307506 under it made from PLA or nylon (clear?) and make different diffraction plates. Very neat project.
I assume I could mount lasers and use it to focus them into one giant beam and destroy planets?

cool idea, though I’d have to split those since the diameter would be too large for my printer. mounting laser diodes on a scaled down model (to destroy smaller things than planets;) is also very interesting idea!
