Hi Looking for a little help.

Hi
Looking for a little help.
I have created a circle test cut using the online Shapeoko2 maker app. Used GRBL controller to interface to the Sharpoko 2 and ended up with a four pointed star?
Any ideas??

I wild guess is some wires was swapped for the motors.

if you move the gantry without power, does it move smoothly? if you are powered up and try to move the Y, do both motors move the right direction? Initially I had to do as @Henrik_Larsen indicated, I had to swap two of the wires on one motor as they tried to move different directions.

If one of the axis is inverted, shouldn’t the output mirrored in that axis. Perhaps something is wrong with the gcode generated. Can you try downloading the gcode and drag it into chilipeppr for visualization?

I guess you don’t have the actual Gcode that was sent?

True, if you are using Easel, you can go to the advanced options and download the gcode to check

Thanks for all the comments so soon :). I checked it, before I cut in GBRL Controller. That has visualisation. So has to be on the Arduino or wires. But checked before in ensure the Y axis had one pair crossed, but check, check and check again. I reckon this must be logic somewhere, rather than hardware, but always keep mind open. If you invert the axis you get a mirror image. But this was setup with the spindle towards me, the front, and left hand side. I will post a pic of the visualisation shortly.

Can you give us a link to the star you are about to cut?

Silly thought, is the offset set right for the diameter bit you are using. If its set for 1/2"(12mm) and you are using a 1/8"(3mm) bit you’ll end up with something that looks like what you have pictured.
