Hi!

Something weird happened today when slicing a part in Simplify3D. The skirt and the support material are crossing paths. Anyone knows how to fix this?

Thanks

Why is it a problem? Should the support material be inside the skirt?

@NathanielStenzel not a big issue, but both materials will touch itself and if this happens a lot of times during the print of the part I’ve ended with a semiclogged nozzle after a long long print

it always does this when the base is smaller than the overhanging top

The only small issue is that the skirt is printed, then the support crosses the skirt. It’s a small double print intersection, but it could cause a problem on a wide skirt.

It doesn’t actually seem to be double printing, it stops the support bead on layer 1 where there is skirt/brim and a close inspection of the photo seems to confirm this is true here too.
