Have you tried OpenSCAD?
@Ruald_Andreae
yes once it s hardcore for me . i have started cading only 2 weeks ago
Yeah OpenSCAD is a mind bender, totally different to standard apps, not sure what FreeCAD is like. Good luck!
@Ruald_Andreae
freecad is more user friendly , have try.
thanks you too
Find a YouTube video about Construction Lines, they’ll make life much easier.
@Mark_MARKSE_Emery
on freecad i use sketcher workbench , its the same thing
What I like about OpenSCAD is that it’s like code, I can script a bit so this resonates with me, I can write functions and reuse them in different ways repeatedly.
@Ruald_Andreae
you are right but for a non engineer openscad is a little hard ,the UI of freecad is friendly . i used openscad before it took me more time to make things
@Ruald_Andreae
openscad is like low level language more efficient but hard to use , freecad higher language less efficient but easy to use .
I’m convinced. I’m a diehard OpenSCAD user but you’ve convinced me to give FreeCAD a try. Thanks!
Ditto…sudo apt-get install freecad…few mins…freecad enter aaahhh opensource
OpenSCAD has a module in FreeCAD too so you have the best of both worlds.
Nice,… what’s the application you open once you’re done with FreeCad? Seems like a 3D printer tool.
@Jan_Rhebergen
YES , slic3r to generate Gcode from STL files for the 3d printer
