Hi there Everyone!

Anyways question?
I have just started doing some timelapse of prints using my Raspberry Pi. So I am wondering what software people are using to put together the video for it? The FREE one I used worked fine for some small prints I did of a few hours. But when I did something that was like 10 hour print it had like 500+ pics and seems like it couldn’t handle it?

Which one were you using?

VideoPad

I’d use something like ffmpeg personally.

Actually I prefer transferring the images over to my PC with Windows and rendering it there.

Try virtualdub on Windows. Basic and no frills, but it works. Open the first file of a numbered sequence of still images (as if it is a video) and the rest will also be loaded. Then save as video

Thanks I’ll check it out @Nelis_Willers

I am considering the options listed here. http://www.linux-projects.org/modules/sections/index.php?op=viewarticle&artid=16#example7

OK well Virtual Dub was a complete fail also. Sorry @Nelis_Willers

As I recall VirtualDub has been unmaintained for a few years now.

I have used Motion previously as a security cam and that can do timelapse… it will probably be better on the newer Pi. Although it can be a bit of a pain to set up…

Why not put Octoprint on the Pi so you can control it and do timelapses at the same time? It’ll do all the hard work for you. The back end uses FFMPEG’s avconv to string the images together.

I’m using motion, albeit not on a Pi. Works just fine and needs no real intervention, just gets on with it.

Thanks @Nick_Reynolds But ain’t that apple?

I still NEED a good way to do this!

Nothing Apple at all, it’s motion running on my Linux server.

I used to use wmm to just speed up the footage, but I just got a gopro and will be using that.
